Lady Hornets set for Hawaii volleyball adventure

Azle squad to compete in elite tournament after months of fundraising

The Azle High School varsity volleyball team will trade the familiar hardwood of Texas for the sun-soaked shores of Hawaii later this month, embarking on a trip that players, coaches and parents have been working toward for years.

On Aug. 27, the Lady Hornets will depart for the islands to compete in a prestigious multi-state tournament, marking the first time an Azle team has participated in the event. They will return Sept. 1 after playing seven to nine matches against opponents from Hawaii, California and Texas.
