Rescue crews recovered the body of a man near Crest Point in the southeast portion of Eagle Mountain Lake Sunday afternoon, Aug. 24. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as Satit “Jimmy” Chaikong, age 52; the cause of death is listed as drowning.
Chaikong had been missing almost 24 hours after his watercraft capsized Saturday, Aug. 23 near Crest Point.
According to a spokesperson for Tarrant Regional Water District, a boater saw two children floating in the water and screaming for help. The boater rescued the children and reported the incident. TRWD Law Enforcement Division units responded, secured the children and initiated an investigation. They determined the children had been on the lake in a small watercraft with their father, who had not surfaced after going into the water.
