Fire protection is on the minds of residents and business owners in the city of Reno since the Briar-Reno Fire Department announced it will no longer serve that community after Oct. 1. Opinions appear to be divided around the community over whether Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1 is the best answer — something voters will decide at the polls Nov. 4.
But PCESD No. 1 isn’t sitting on its hands in the meantime.
The district announced it has executed a contract to purchase a 3-acre tract of land located at the intersection of Knob Hill Road, also known as Farm-to-Market Road 2257, at North Cardinal Road in far northeast Parker County. Closing on the purchase of the property is expected in the coming days, a press release says.
