The city of Reno and the Briar-Reno Fire Department honored the many lives lost 24 years ago Sept. 11. Reno City council members and first responders came together to not forget the impact 9/11 has had, even on a small community, by sharing heartfelt stories and praying for families still affected today.

“We are here in remembrance of all that we’ve lost,” Reno Mayor Hector Bas said. Fire Chief Moses Druxman thanked the council for allowing him and his team to be in attendance to share the impactful stories.

“I know it sounds cliché but never forget the sacrifice of those who passed on 9/11,” Druxman said. He told his own 9/11 story, which occurred when he was in third grade.
