Azle Senior Center receives donation toward hot meals
City of Azle senior residents received not only a warm meal Tuesday, Sept. 9, but also a special visit when Azle Manor Healthcare & Rehabilitation, Meals on Wheels representatives and city leadership, including Mayor Randa Goode, were on hand to present a $500 donation to the Azle Senior Center.
Since coming on board with Azle Manor as its marketing director, Jessica Hutchens has taken steps to foster a relationship with the senior center by organizing special events, along with the center’s director, Jackie “JJ” Joy and other city employees. During a conversation with Joy, Hutchens learned that the funds allocated toward the $2.50 daily meal provided by Meals on Wheels at the center would sometimes run out.
