Two people lost their lives in a horrific five-vehicle crash in the 13000 block of Farm-to-Market Road 730 South Tuesday, Sept.23 shortly after noon.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the two deceased people as 73-year-old Johna Estes Wicker and 67-year-old Robert Edwin Anness. A press release issued by the Azle Police Department says one of the victims was the driver of a southbound vehicle; the other was a passenger in a northbound vehicle. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident after life saving measures were performed by first responders.

Several other injured individuals were transported to area hospitals, as well.
