The Azle Hornets cross-country program delivered a statement performance at the Decatur Reunion Run Thursday, Sept. 25, with team titles, personal bests and a new school record highlighting the day.
The JV and varsity girls squads each captured meet championships, led by a historic run from freshman Jazmin Neri, who won the varsity girls race and set a new Azle High School record in the process. Behind Neri, Yasmeen Tejada placed fifth and Azucena Neri claimed eighth, giving the Lady Hornets three runners inside the top 10.
Azle head coach Kelsie Jones praised the effort and improvement of her runners across the program.
