For almost 30 years, Francisco Javier Gomez Gonzalez — affectionately known as “Pancho” by the community — has served up more than food at El Paseo Mexican Restaurant. His presence is a constant, his smile a comfort, and his story a testament to loyalty, service and connection.

Before becoming a familiar face at El Paseo, Pancho worked as a delivery driver for Cardona, a Fort Worth-based company that distributed chips and tortillas. He regularly delivered to the restaurant, which is how he first got to know the staff and eventually became part of the team.

In 1995, Pancho officially joined the restaurant as a server after connecting with then-manager Marco Ruiz, who played an important role in helping him grow into the position.
