Residents in Reno, Sanctuary, Briar and Pelican Bay will see a change in their fire service providers beginning this week. In Reno and Sanctuary, Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1 will begin providing services Oct. 1. Tarrant County Emergency Services District No. 1 will begin providing services in Briar and Pelican Bay Oct. 4.
The Briar-Reno Fire Department released a statement announcing its formal dissolution after a series of discussions between city council and board members, effective Oct. 4.
In a heartfelt message to the people the organization has served over the last 16 years, BRFD Fire Chief Moses Druxman said the decision was one that did not come lightly.
