The Azle Marching Green Pride, under the direction of Greg Davis, represented the community with pride at the Dallas Mid-Cities Regional Bands of America competition held Saturday, Oct. 4 at Pennington Field in Euless. The event featured 21 high school bands from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, each bringing their unique sound and showmanship to the field.
Led by drum majors Brady Danford, Lila Harden, Violet Isom and Ellie Bennett, the Marching Green Pride performed its 2025 show, “The Fire Within.” The production draws inspiration from the self-help book of the same name by author Myles Munroe, which centers on discovering one’s purpose and passion in life.
The musical selections for the performance included “Fearless” by Carol Britten Chambers, “Kaleidoscope” by Chappell Roan, “Symphony No. 10” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky and “Archangel” by Thomas Bergersen. The program blended classical and contemporary influences, highlighting both musical complexity and emotional storytelling.
