On Sunday, Oct. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., First Methodist Church of Azle will host its annual fall festival with a special twist this year, combining the event with its 130th anniversary celebration. The free event is open to the public and will feature bingo with gift card prizes, train rides, a scavenger hunt, a caramel apple walk, inflatables, crafts, games and more, and will wrap up with a community dinner that invites families from across the area to come together in fun and fellowship while celebrating the church’s 130-year history in Azle.
The fall festival’s scavenger hunt is one of the most anticipated activities each year, and this time it will have a historical twist.
“One of the coolest things we do at it is we normally do a scavenger hunt at the church. So last year, the scavenger hunt was all about our gorgeous stained-glass windows in the sanctuary, and the kids were given cards to go find out about each window,” office manager Stacy Johnson said. “This year, I believe the scavenger hunt is going to tie more, probably, into history of the church, and so I think that's cool, because then our kids in our church, our families, and the community as a whole, get to learn more about us and what we believe in.”
