The Azle Hornets woke up a home crowd Friday night, picking up their first win of the season in a dominant 42-19 victory over the Keller Fossil Ridge Panthers. The win was a much-needed boost for a team hungry for success after a tough start to the season.

King Stephens led the way for the Hornets, rushing for 230 yards on 34 carries and finding the end zone four times. The sophomore running back’s performance was a key factor in Azle’s offensive attack, which proved to be too much for the Panthers to handle.

The Hornets' passing game looked sharp with senior quarterback Derrek Vowell completing 14 of 17 attempts for 159 yards and a touchdown. Vowell’s accuracy kept the Panthers’ defense on its toes and allowed Azle to sustain drives throughout the night.
