It’s been more than four decades since the Azle Lake Run ‘dashed’ its way into the hearts of the community, and even today, the event is still staying true to its founder’s legacy — one step at a time.
For 44 years, the Azle Lake Run has been a staple in the community, and residents are excited for its return Saturday, Nov. 8, at Ash Creek Park — but this long-standing tradition wouldn’t be possible without the passion and vision of Linda McCreary.
“It took someone with a creative vision, who had a family that loved running and competing, and who lived in a great, small community,” Linda’s daughter, Melissa Hurta, told The Azle News.
