Azle Lady Hornet freshman sensation Jazmin Neri continued her breakout season Monday, qualifying for the UIL State Cross-Country Meet after placing third overall at the Region 1-5A Championship held at Lubbock’s Mae Simmons Park.
Neri clocked an impressive 18:30 5K, securing her spot among the best in Texas and capping off a remarkable regional debut.
The Lady Hornets finished fifth as a team, just missing out on a team berth to state. The squad’s consistent performance throughout the season and strong regional showing highlight the depth of Azle’s young roster.
