Azle Marching Green Pride earns straight 1s at UIL Region Contest
Azle’s Marching Green Pride earned all 1s at the UIL Region 30 Marching Contests. The band will compete in the Area Round Nov. 1.

The Azle Marching Green Pride struck the right note at the UIL Region 30 Marching Contest Oct. 16, earning straight Division 1 ratings from all judges. The impressive performance secured the band’s advancement to the UIL Area Marching Contest Nov. 1.

Under the direction of Greg Davis, the MGP demonstrated precision, musicality and visual excellence in their show. UIL fine arts events are judged on a five-point scale, with a “1” being the highest possible rating. Each performance is evaluated by multiple judges, who assess categories such as music performance, visual execution and overall effect.

The band’s consistent “1” ratings reflect the hours of dedication and teamwork invested throughout the marching season. Times and performance order for the upcoming area contest will be announced at a later date.
