Naomi Ruth Nichols

Naomi Ruth Nichols, 75, passed away peacefully March 22, 2026.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at White’s Azle Chapel in Azle. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, also at White’s Azle Chapel. Burial will be at noon Friday, March 27, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Naomi was born May 27, 1950, in Bonham to Evangeline and Claude Deshong Jr. She lived a life marked by hard work, devotion and deep love for her family. She worked diligently throughout her life and was known for her kind heart and steady strength.

Naomi loved quilting and volunteering in her community. Above all, she cherished her family and close friends, and was a regular at the Azle Senior Center, playing cards and dominoes. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Patrick and Kaylee, and over the years faithfully attended their many school activities — including sports, competitive cheer, graduations and other milestones.

The family is deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff of Texas Oncology in Weatherford and Azle, Texas Health Hospital Azle, Texas Health Hospital Fort Worth and Community Hospice for the loving care she received in her final days.

Naomi will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by Shelia’s dad, Wesley Gene Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Pippins and husband Rick of Azle; grandson, Patrick Pippins and wife Peyton and great-grandson Harrison of Fate; granddaughter, Kaylee Pippins of Rockwall; sister, Virginia Zehnder of Westminster, Colorado; and a niece and nephew.
