James Mildred “Millie” Dougherty, 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family March 19, 2026. 

She was born Aug. 1, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana to James Albert Barber and Rosa Jane Riles Barber.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lawrence Barber.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donn L. Dougherty; children Donna Lawson and husband Wayne, Tony Dougherty and wife Nancy, Tim Dougherty, and Donn M. Dougherty; brother Edward Barber; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
