Doris Flynn, 89, passed away peacefully May 8, 2026, two days after her birthday.

A graveside service will be held for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Saint Ann Catholic Church.

She was born on May 6, 1937, in Michigan and raised in Tucson, Arizona, one of 11 children. From a young age, she carried a strong sense of responsibility, leaving high school to help support her family. That strength and dedication stayed with her throughout her life.

Doris Deitering married John “Rock” Flynn and, together they served in the United States Air Force, building a life rooted in commitment, resilience and service. She had a lifelong love of staying active and competitive. In later years, the longtime Azle resident became an accomplished race walker, competing several times in the Senior Olympics, a reflection of her determination and spirit.

She is survived by her children: Dennis Flynn and wife Darci; Janie Dann and husband Bob; Tom Flynn and wife Laurette; Mike Flynn and wife Tracy. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
