James Carl Smith, 69, passed away, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm. Friday, June 19 at Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home, 3607 E. Highway 199 in Springtown. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at The Church at Azle, 1801 S. Stewart St. in Azle under the direction of Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Fort Worth to Clyde Smith and Ruth (Jacks) Brooks, who preceded him in death, along with his sister and her husband, Illene and Charlie Hogue.

James was a resident of Azle/Springtown area, had a passion for woodworking and was a member of The Church at Azle.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons James (Suzanne), and Justin; brothers Robert (Sharon) and Roger (Char); and grandchildren, Lily, Eli, JT and Wyatt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you may make donations in his name to the Edna Gladney Center.
