William Blackman went to be with his heavenly father Sept. 12, 2026.

There will be a private family memorial service Sept. 26.

William was born in Lubbock Jan. 19, 1936, to Clifton and Lucille Blackman. Bill spent his professional career working in all phases of the mechanical contracting business. He was a faithful member of Ash Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, usher, teacher and Sunday School director. He and his wife, Norma, celebrates 70 years of marriage June 1.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bobby, Edward and Thomas.

He is survived by son Steven Blackman and wife Donna; daughter Cynthia Robertson and husband Michael; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Gary Blackman; and sister Peggy Garcia.
