Priscilla Harrison

1954 — 2022

Priscilla Lois Carey Harrison, 68, passed away Dec. 17, 2022. Born Oct. 11, 1954, she was a force to be reckoned with and known for many things, including her sense of style, her work ethic, her love of gardening, and her ability to avoid social gatherings.

She worked many jobs but was most proud of her position as Library Manager of Tarrant County College Northeast where she retired in 2020. She loved the students, student-workers and her coworkers there.

By now she is likely enjoying coffee and catching up with her daddy, Henry Thomas “Red” Carey, her grandmother, Jewel Audrey Carey, and her sister, Peggy Ann Johnson, while admiring the beautiful gardens no doubt being tended by her mother, Mary Margaret McComas Carey.

She is sorely missed by her daughter, Misty Michelle Lawhead Smith of Mitchell, South Dakota; her sons, Roger Erik Iker and wife Bonnie of Plano, and Jeremy Louis Harrison Hogan and Jason Hogan of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Emily Blake Iker-Mercado and husband Ryan of New Port Richey, Florida, and Cameron Nicholas Iker of Plano whom she cherished and spoiled as only Grinny could. She was also blessed with a greatgranddaughter, Leila Adeline Iker-Mercado whom she adored. She left behind five brokenhearted sisters, Liba Doubrava and husband John of Bedford, Martha Simmons and husband Bill of Azle, Audrey Mansell of Millsap, Stella Novikoff and husband Alan of Azle, and Becky Knight and husband Stanley of Marble Falls; a brother, Charlie Carey and wife Cindy of Azle; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends and countless admirers who miss her and will remember her forever. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Carey; Erik’s father, Roger Iker, and Misty’s father, Garry Lawhead.
