Charles “Charlie” Mason Costin, 45, of Azle, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, May 17 Geo J.
Carroll & Sons in Gainesville followed by graveside services at Fairview Cemetery.

Charlie was born in Gainesville to Davie and Carolyn Costin. As the youngest child and only son among four sisters, Charlie was cherished by his family throughout his life. He was a talented basketball player at Callisburg High School, graduating in 1998, before attending The University of Texas in Austin, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2002. After college, Charlie worked in the transplant lab at UT Southwestern before returning home to work at his father’s insurance agency. Following his father’s retirement, Charlie became his dedicated caregiver and remained faithful in caring for and visiting his mother.
Charlie was known for his love of music, animals and nature. His beloved cat, Tux, was his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Davie Costin.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Costin; his sisters: Kelley Rowland (Brandon), Kristina Mayo, Amy Tarr (Joe), and Cathy Spivey (Doug); his nieces and nephews: Hannah McLain (Taylor), Jackson Rowland, Isabella Rowland, Emily Tarr, Evan Tarr, Jenna Morgan (Caleb), Molly Tierney (Sean), JD Spivey, Noah Spivey (fiancée Sam), and Elizabeth Spivey; two great-nephews, two great-nieces, and one greatnephew on the way.
