Karen was born March 11, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Theodore Michael Meier and Margaret Julia Kelly. As the daughter of a U.S. Army serviceman, she spent her childhood in various locations across the country. She graduated from Sparks High School in 1968 and soon after met the love of her life, Charlie Lee Barry. The two were married Dec. 14, 1968, beginning a lifelong partnership. During Charlie’s deployments with the U.S. Navy, Karen devoted herself to raising their three sons.
Karen was a life member of the VFW, an avid reader and loved John Wayne movies.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her cherished son, Michael Anthony Barry.
Karen is lovingly survived by her husband, Charlie Lee Barry; her sons, David Lee Barry and his wife Kimberly, and Brian Kelly Barry and his wife Holly; and her daughter-inlaw, Vickie Barry. She was a proud grandmother to Brian Kelly Barry Jr. and his wife Sarah, Kaitlyn Renee Barry, Brandon Thomas Barry and his wife Mishay, Zachary Michael Barry, Brittany Leigh Martinez and her husband Carson, and Hannah May Barry. Karen was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren — five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters — who brought immense joy to her life.
