Richard George Steinfels

1944 — 2025

Richard George Steinfels went home to be with the Lord June 28, 2025.

Richard was born in East Orange, New Jersey Dec. 19, 1944, and attended the schools there.

His parents were Victor Edwin Steinfels Jr and Lilleas Steinfels.

He joined the Navy but was discharged due to an accident in 1963.

Richard was an over-theroad trucker for 20 years but was forced to retire due to lung cancer in 2023. He was named Trucker of the Year in 2022 for a record of more than one million miles, ticket and accident free, for all 20 years of perfect driving.

Richard loved the outdoors and loved hunting, target shooting and fishing. He was a crack shot with rifle, pistol, shotgun and bow and arrow.

Richard leaves behind three brothers, Victor Steinfels III of Ohio, Ronald Steinfels of Springtown and Wane Steinfels of Bedford.

His older sister Lilleas Slankard passed away a few years ago.

We thank God for ending his suffering and receiving him Home. We will miss him, but thank the Lord we had him for 80-plus years.

Rest in peace dear brother, you will be missed but will always be alive in our hearts and memories.
