Sherry (Williams) Pruner, 80, was born May 17, 1945, in San Angelo, to Henry “Hip” and Mabel (Roach) Williams, and went to be with the Lord Aug.
31, 2025, in Boonsville.
Funeral services for Sherry Pruner, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Balsora Baptist Church in Bridgeport; burial followed at Boonsville Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 pm Friday, Sept.
5 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers included Garrett Morgan, Gage Morgan, Josh Morgan, Matthew Pruner, Charles Thomas and David Pass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Balsora Baptist Church, 108 County Road 3623, Bridgeport, TX 76426.
Sherry dedicated her life to education and imparting knowledge to her students. She graduated from Azle High School, went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in physical education and biology from North Texas University and later obtained a master’s degree in physical education. On Dec. 16, 1967, Sherry married Fred Pruner in Azle, and the couple enjoyed a happy marriage for 57 years. Sherry was a nurturing mother and a proud grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and creating lasting memories together.
Sherry found great joy beyond her career in education. She was especially passionate about horseback riding and was known for her genuine affection for animals. Her beloved corgis held a special place in her heart, and she cared for them with unwavering devotion.
Sherry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication and a love for life that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Henry “Hip” Williams; mother, Mabel Williams-Boyd; grandparents, Charles and Maggie Roach and Ewell and Ada Williams; and inlaws, Devoe and Georgia Pruner.
Those left to cherish Sherry’s memory are her husband, Fred Pruner; son, Matthew Pruner and wife Mandy; daughter, Anna (Pruner) Morgan and husband Josh; sisters, Peggy (Williams) Richey and GiGi (Williams) Park; grandchildren, Garrett Morgan, Gage Morgan, Evelynn Pruner and Asa Pruner; and a host of friends.
