James “Jim” Walling, 84, passed away peacefully Oct. 4, 2025, in Briar.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at New Hope Cemetery in Boyd.

Born Dec. 1, 1940, Jim served his country as a major in the U.S. Air Force and the State of Texas as a traffic engineer.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, JV and Dorothy Walling, and his daughter, Kathy Walling.

He is survived by his wife, Lana Walling; his children, Kelly (Jeff) Booth, Tracey Buckingham, Deborah (Todd) Manson and Ethan Edwards; and his grandchildren, extended family and friends.
