Robert Stanley ‘Bob’ Petry
Robert Stanley “Bob” or “Bobby” Petry of Weatherford died Dec. 30, 2025. He lived a life of faith, hard work and genuine kindness. He was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful friend, and a man whose quiet generosity left a lasting impact.
A memorial will be held from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 17 at the City of Lake Worth Multi-Purpose Facility, 7005 Charbonneau Road in Lake Worth.
Bob was born May 7, 1958, grew up in Fort Worth and began working at a young age as a paperboy for the Press and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He later worked at Westside Appliance and Texas Hotel and Restaurant Supply, before dedicating 25 years of his career to Hobart. His strong work ethic, integrity and sense of responsibility extended well beyond his career and into the community around him. Bob faithfully donated blood, volunteered with the Texas Baptist Men to expand the Mission House at First Baptist Church Castle Hills, served in youth ministry at Park Temple Baptist Church, and worked with Our Kids Care for 12 consecutive years, assembling bicycles and toys for children in need at Christmas, serving hundreds of families. Beyond organized service, Bob’s compassion was evident in everyday moments, from taking an extra sandwich for someone homeless to caring for rescue animals and freely repairing appliances for those in need.
Above all else, Bob was a loving husband and devoted family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Benjamin Petry and Betty Lou McCuistion Petry; his infant son, Max Ryan Petry; and his twin grandsons, Sterling James Adams and Boone Ray Adams.
He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Annette Petry; his daughters, Melissa (Adam) Engel, Amy (Christian) Petry-Hempen, Kelsey “Bre” Henderson Petry, and Christy (Austin) Adams; his sister, Kay (Ronnie) Reynolds; his brother, Gary (Kathy) Petry; and many nieces, nephews and friends who became family. This world is truly a better place because he was in it.
