Katherine Marie Detrick passed from this life Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 at Biggers Funeral Chapel in Lake Worth, followed by interment at Newsome Cemetery in Parker County. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 9 at Biggers Funeral Home.

Born July 28, 1949, in Fort Worth, Katherine was the daughter of William Shields Jr. and Mary Katherine Elliott.

Katherine dedicated much of her life working in law enforcement, where she was a dispatcher for Azle and Weatherford in Parker County.

She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in their accomplishments, laughter and love.

Katherine will be remembered for her strength, compassion and the steadfast devotion she showed to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Detrick; and her daughter, Robin Morrison.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Detrick; her granddaughter, Jessika Detrick; and her brother, Bill Shields.
